Shark Week is back

Yep, it’s Shark Week again.  When you watch you learn more about these creatures.  While they are killing, eating machines they are also endangered.  They are scary to behold but they are also beautiful in their own way.

So buckle up for another week of shark myths and, lore, history and facts.  The huMom has massive respect for these amazing creatures.

Random July Thoughts

Here we are nearing the end of July.  It’s been beastly hot here in Indiana and all around the country.  Summer school at CSU has been postponed due to circumstances beyond our control.

The huMom donated a few non-perishable items to a food drive.

Her Cat Scout bag gets lots of attention and compliments when she is out on the bus.  People ask where they can get it and then ask about Cat Scouts.  So she is spreading the word and hopefully getting more people and cats to join in the fun.

Her birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks so we will celebrate in the middle of August for her.

50th Anniversary of 1st Moon Landing

July 20th, 1969 man first landed on the moon.  Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon.  Saturday was the 50th anniversary of this event.  Yes, the huMom was alive and watched this event live on tv when it happened.  We watched the specials on tv in honor of the event.  It was still thrilling to watch.

Next week is summer school at Cat Scouts preparing for camp in August.  Also the huMom has a birthday in August.  Let’s help her celebrate.

Health Issues (part 2)

My huMom got here blood work done, hopefully all is well on that front.  She has to bring in another paycheck to verify income.  She will do that tomorrow.

My huMom called her mother’s phone today and someone else answered and could not hear her so hung up on her.  Now she is really worried and has asked for a Stephen Minister from her church to help ease her anxiety.

I wish it was better news, hugs and purrs, Ali

Update on Medical Issues

Well the huMom has to get blood work done so that she can get her thyroid medication refilled.  She is playing phone tag with Riggs Community Health Clinic to get that done.

Her mom (my grandmom) is not doing well at all.  She has fallen and broken her toes and one of her wrists.  My aunt (my huMom’s sister) is trying to get help for their mom and put her in assisted living for people on medicare.  A friend of the family called and said that her mom wants to die and is praying for that to happen.  She has post polio syndrom and osteo arthritis and is getting weaker every day and can barely talk.  We expect the dreaded phone every day with the bad news.

For now, we ask for purrayers and POTP for my huMom, her mom and her sister as they work through this.

July and Fireworks

It’s July and it’s hot and humid here in Lafayette, Indiana.  Chances of showers every day.  There are people living nearby who have been shooting off fireworks for over 2 weeks now.  Usually it’s once per hour starting at 7:00 p.m. and going to 11:00 p.m..  Technically they have been in violation of the fireworks law.  This is a residential neighborhood where there are small children and animals whoare scared of the fireworks.

I don’t like fireworks, they are too loud and scare me.  They just annoy my huMom.  At least she doesn’t have to work that day and can catch up on her sleep before the fireworks start in the neighborhood.

Be careful, stay cool and hydrated.  Hugs and purrs, Ali
