Anxiety and Pain

This one is a bit of a bummer, but my human is in so much pain.  She cries because she hurts so bad and can’t get any kind of relief.  She barely sleeps because she can’t get comfortable.

When I meow she tells me to shush, I guess I am not helping matters.  When humans hurt it makes them grumpy and cranky.

She will be seeing her counselor later this month about her anxiety.  She is not hopeful about it helping anymore.

October Musings

What is this world coming too?  Natural disasters practically every week.  Mass shootings, fake news, etc.

Last night my human had a terrible time just falling asleep.  Luckily she didn’t have to go to work early today so she did sleep a little bit, even with me trying to wake her up.  Her back still hurts so much.  She is taking Tylenol and Ibuprofin for it.  She also has a heating pad and a massage tool.

That’s it for now, Hugs and purrs, Ali

It’s Fall?

Here we are in the last week of September and it’s 90 degrees here.  That is not fall weather.  According to the local weather fall temps may actually arrive later this week.  I sure hope so.  It’s been so hot and humid that the human has lots more aches and pains due to the heat, humidity and her physical work demands.

Any ideas to help lower back pain?  Please let us know, hugs and purrs, Ali

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

My human received notices today that because of her part-time job she now is no longer qualifed to receive food stamps or health coverage through HIP.  She is crying and trembling and doesn’t know what to do.

Hurricanes

Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have destroyed much of Houston and the entire state of Florida.  Last night there was a telethon on tv asking for donations to help.  This morning watching the news the people in Florida may not have power until the 22nd of this month.  The Naples area was one of the hardest hit.  This is where my human’s father used to live and work until his death in 1991.

Let us hope that hurricane Jose doesn’t hit the US at all.

Hugs and prayers, Ali

Frustrating day

Today was really frustrating for the human.  Her postage machine decided to act up while she was running mail.  It was down for about a hour and then it needed more stuff done.  By the time it was up and running she made a couple of boo boos because she was trying to get caught up.  She owned up to them right away.  Luckily she still has a job.  She is never wearing the stressed out cat t-shirt again.  It is going in the trash.

Thank you all for potp and kind thoughts.

Rough Week

My human has had a rough week.  With all her medication changes happening she is making mistakes at her work and almost got fired yesterday.  She is having major anxiety and fear issues.  The anti-depressant she was taking made her extremely dizzy and caused her to have a nightmare.  She hasn’t had a nightmare in 15 years so that was disturbing to her.  She talked to her counselor and they are looking for a different way to treat her anxiety.

Now hurricane Irma is going to hit Florida.  To all my furriends in that area, stay safe.

Hugs and purrayers, Ali

September Musings

Well, here it is the first of September and I haven’t written anything for a couple of weeks.  Thanks to my human’s new part-time job we didn’t have to move or become homeless.  She has been stressed out about this and her blood pressure is high and her depression hit with a vengence.

Prayers for all those affected by Hurricane Harvey.  I have been watching the reports about this and am struck by the awesome forces of nature.  Seeing the people help each other, no matter of race, wealth or gender.  People helping animals get to safety and hopefully reunite with their humans.

Hugs and purrs, Alicat

Order of the Arrowhead

I am now an inductee into the Order of the Arrowhead at Cat Scouts.  I never even gave it a thought that this would be the year that I would be chosen.  It’s a big honor to be chosen.  The big ceremony will be next month.

The blanket, compass, egg and matches were all I could take with me into the wilderness as part of the initiation ritual for becoming a member of Order of the Arrowhead.

Also seen here, the cake for the new members, my membership card and the sash I can wear on my uniform.

Summer Camp at Yosemite

Last night was the s’mores recipes.  They will be put into a booklet.  Some of them sounded super fantastic.

The nominees for Order of the Arrowhead were chosen and I am one of the 7.

Today we had a poetry workshop and we wrote 3 poems.  Two of them were to be about summer camp and the third about cat scouts.  Tonight is the knowledge bowl and the nominees for Order of the Arrowhead are going to be turned out into the wilderness with a loincloth, a blanket, an egg, two matches and a compass.

Tomorrow night will be purrmotions, stories, closing ceremonies, and awards.

Sunday we will break camp in the morning.  We can stay for the birthday party if we want.  Oh and we can look at the falling stars too.

Hugs and purrs, Ali
